Avalanche warning for region Indre Fjordane Wednesday 06.12.2017

Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Wet natural avalanches possible. The avalanche danger stays at the same level as long as the rain continues. Avoid avalanche release and run out areas.

Wet snow (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Nedbør som snø søndag til tirsdag har gitt vekslande vindpåvirka overflate. Med mildværet er den etterkvart blitt mjuk og fuktig.

I forbindelse med skarelag 20-40cm ned i snødekket er det begynnende kantkorndannelse som må følges med på.

Mandag er det i Gloppen observert naturlig utløst flakskred av str 2 ved 600moh.

Det ligg no mykje snø i fjellet i lesider mot aust.

Avalanche risk assessment

Mykje nedbør med stigande snøgrense utover dagen, gir regn på snø og svekker snødekket. Dette gir skredproblem med våte skred, og det kan gi naturlig utløyste skred av str 3. Det er imidlertid synkende tendens etterkvart som skredhenga tømmer seg for snø. Faregraden blir vurdert til 3- betydelig.
